Pine

The evergreen Turkish pine (Pinus Brutia) houses the sap-sucking greenfly species Marchalina Hellenic, which excretes honeydew. Bees collect the honeydew and subsequently convert it to mineral-rich Pine Honey. The dark coloured liquid honey is characterised by a strong, woody taste. Due to its high vitamin content it is seen as a very valuable honey.
